Non-urgent advice: When we are Closed
For emergencies outside of Monday-Friday 8.00-18.30, please call 111.
Anyone who lives in, or is visiting, Hertfordshire, can call 111 when they need medical help fast, but it’s not a 999 emergency, life-threatening situation.
Callers are assessed, given advice and directed straight away to the local service that can help them best. That could be an out of hours GP (Herts Urgent Care), a minor injuries unit, community nurse, late opening pharmacist, an urgent care centre or A&E.
Calls from landlines and mobile phones are free.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
